John Preston

John Preston is a Professor in the Department of Engineering Physics at McMaster University's Faculty of Engineering. He specializes in laser-based materials innovation, particularly for photovoltaic applications. His research focuses on pulsed laser deposition, self-assembly of nanostructures, and advanced materials for solar cells. He directs the NSERC CREATE Program in Photovoltaics and collaborates with facilities like the Brockhouse Materials Research Institute. Currently accepting graduate students.
