Professor John Lodge is Director of the Centre for Health and Life Sciences Research at London Metropolitan University's School of Human Sciences. A human nutritionist with postdoctoral experience at UC Berkeley and Linus Pauling Institute, his research examines fruit bioactives, antioxidants, and diet-disease interactions using metabolomics.
His investigations focus on cardiovascular impacts of berries/tree nuts, sugar metabolism, and biomarker development. Recent work includes clinical trials on blueberry/cherry consumption and large-scale analyses of UK dietary patterns.
He directs major grants including ERA-HDHL's AMBROSIA project and industry-funded nut/cherry studies. Editorial roles include European Journal of Nutrition and Nutrients journals.
