John LoCurto is an Associate Professor of Practice of Law at St. Mary's University. Previously, he spent 20 years in legal practice at the U.S. Department of Justice and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney focusing on healthcare fraud, whistleblower cases, and drug diversion investigations. Since 2018, he has transitioned to academia, teaching legal writing, public health law, policy, and ethics. His research explores healthcare fraud prevention, public health policy, and bioethical issues.
LoCurto holds a J.D. from NYU School of Law (1999) and a B.A. from the College of William & Mary (1996). His presentations span topics like HIPAA compliance, post-Roe medical practice implications, and ethics in forensic practice. He has spoken at institutions including Texas A&M University School of Medicine and the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association.
