John Hsu

Dr. John C. Hsu is a part-time lecturer in the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), where he has taught since 2003. He is also affiliated with the Antelope Valley Engineering Program.

Education

• Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, North Carolina State University
• Master’s in Nuclear Engineering
• Master’s in Mechanical Engineering

With over four decades of industry experience, Hsu specializes in systems engineering, aerospace design, and project management. His career includes leadership roles at Garrett AiResearch, Northrop Corp., McDonnell Douglas Corp., and Boeing, where he managed advanced aircraft systems and integration projects.

Hsu currently advises students at CSULB and serves on the advisory board for UC Irvine’s systems engineering and international communications certificate programs. His expertise bridges academic instruction with real-world aerospace engineering applications.
