John Haglund

John Haglund is an Instructional Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. He holds a Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University (2003), Texas A&M University (2000), and Montana State University (1995) respectively.

His research focuses on aerosol sampling technologies, particularly aerosol measurement methodologies (PM10/PM2.5), bioaerosol collection systems, and assessment methodologies in engineering education. He has developed innovative sampling devices like wetted wall cyclones and shrouded probes for high-speed aerosol collection.

Notable achievements include the 2016 ASME Best Teacher Award and multiple Faculty Appreciation Awards from UT Austin. His work emphasizes practical applications in environmental monitoring and public health through advanced aerosol instrumentation.
