John F. Kilner

John F. Kilner serves as the Franklin Forman Chair of Ethics, Professor of Bioethics and Contemporary Culture, and Director of Bioethics Programs at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois.

Dr. Kilner's research focuses on the intersection of Christian theology and bioethics. His work explores how religious perspectives can inform ethical decision-making in medical contexts, emphasizing the importance of understanding bioethical challenges through the lens of Christian wisdom and ministry. Key areas include reproductive technologies, end-of-life care, stem cell research, and human enhancement technologies.

His notable publication Why the Church Needs Bioethics: A Guide to Wise Engagement with Life's Challenges (2011) addresses critical bioethical issues from a Christian perspective, bringing together experts from theology, medicine, law, and ethics to examine complex medical dilemmas.

Dr. Kilner previously served as President and CEO of The Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity in Bannockburn, Illinois from 1994 to 2005, demonstrating his long-standing commitment to the field of bioethics and the integration of faith with medical ethics.
