John F. Clark

John F. Clark is Professor in the Department of Politics & International Relations at Florida International University's Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs. His office is located in SIPA 1-430, and he can be reached at 305-348-3289 or clarkj@fiu.edu.

Research expertise centers on African state-society relations and international relations, with specific focus on Congo politics, democratization, and foreign policy. Extensive field research includes multiple trips to Congo-Brazzaville and Congo-Kinshasa between 1990-2012.

Publications address political reform in Francophone Africa, Congo conflicts, and regional security dynamics. Authored/edited works include 'The Failure of Democracy in the Republic of Congo' (2008) and 'Africa’s International Relations' (2018).
