Professor John Eade specializes in anthropology of migration, religion, and urban space at University of Roehampton. His research examines how global mobility transforms urban landscapes, with particular focus on pilgrimage, diaspora communities, and post-pandemic migrant integration.
Research Focus: Explores intersections between:
- Urban ethnicity and religious expression
- Pilgrimage practices across cultures
- Transnational migrant networks
- Post-pandemic urban integration
Leadership: Co-founded the Routledge Series on Religion, Travel and Tourism and the European Pilgrimage Network. Leads Volkswagen Stiftung-funded projects examining pandemic impacts on migrant integration in London, Stuttgart and Milan.
