John Beynon is a Professor in the Department of English at Fresno State’s College of Arts and Humanities. He specializes in Restoration and eighteenth-century British literature, queer theory, and lesbian/gay literature.

His research explores intersections of gender, sexuality, and culture in the long eighteenth century. He co-edited Lesbian Dames: Sapphism in the Long Eighteenth Century (Ashgate, 2010) and has published essays on figures like Lady Mary Wortley Montagu and Daniel Defoe. Currently, he investigates tea-drinking culture in Britain during the 1700s.
Dr. Beynon serves as the English M.A. coordinator since spring 2015 and teaches courses in his areas of expertise.
