Johan van Heerden

Johan van Heerden is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Science at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, holding dual appointments in Systems Biology and the AIMMS research institute. His research focuses on understanding metabolic pathways, cell growth dynamics, and microbial physiology, particularly in yeast systems.

His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing sustainable resource allocation and metabolic strategies. He teaches advanced courses including Biochemistry Research, Systems Biology, and Microbiology, reflecting his expertise in experimental and computational biology.
