About
Johan Sandstedt is an Associate Professor in Civil Law at Stockholm University, with a focus on Property Law and Comparative Law. He has held positions including Lecturer in Property Law at Stockholm University since 2016 and previously served as a part-time teacher at the University of Skövde (2011–2016) and a postdoctoral researcher (2013–2015). His affiliations include the Research Department for Insolvency Law with Property Law (SCCL).

Sandstedt's research centers on property law, particularly comparative analyses of Nordic and European legal frameworks. His work on the Draft Common Frame of Reference (DCFR) and the book Real property law, the Nordic countries and Europeanisation (2013) highlights his contributions to harmonizing legal systems. Funding for his thesis was provided by the Emil Heijne Foundation for Legal Research and the Institute for Legal Research.
He has received a research prize from the German-Nordic Lawyers’ Association (2015) for his comparative property law research. Currently, he teaches courses such as Civil Law A (implementing the "Stockholm Model") and supervises two doctoral students. His collaborations bridge academia and practice, particularly in property and insolvency law through SCCL.
