About
Johan Mauritsson is a Professor at the Department of Atomic Physics, Lund Institute of Technology (LTH), Lund University. He is a member of the Photon Science and Technology and Light and Materials profile areas. His research bridges experimental and theoretical work in attosecond physics and strong field laser-matter interaction.
Research interests focus on:
- Generation and application of attosecond pulses
- Control of strong field processes using multi-color laser fields
- XUV spectroscopy and free induction decay phenomena
- Quantum dynamics in high-order harmonic generation and photoionization
Scientific contributions include:
- Sten von Friesen’s award (2009)
- Young Scientist Prize for Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (2009)
Current projects involve:
- QU-ATTO: Quantum information science and ultrafast coherent control at attosecond timescales (2024-2028)
- fMRI-fLICKER: Investigating flicker effects on the brain (2022-2024)
- The Physics of Opera: Interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers like Hjalmar Jalhed (2025)
