Joel Forman

Joel Forman, MD, is a Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and affiliated with the Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital. He holds multiple leadership roles, including Vice-Chair of Education, Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, and Fellowship Director. His work spans Pediatrics, Medical Education, and Environmental Medicine.

Dr. Forman’s research focuses on pediatric environmental health, particularly lead exposure guidelines and environmental risk factors in child health. He co-founded the Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit (PEHSU) and Fellowship at Mount Sinai, and has contributed to national policies through roles on the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Environmental Health and the EPA Children’s Health Protection Advisory Committee. His clinical expertise includes asthma management, developmental screening, and obesity prevention.
