Joe Stouffer

Dr. Joe Stouffer is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at Brandon University, holding the 2022 Senate Award for Excellence in Teaching. With over 30 years of experience as a classroom teacher and literacy specialist, his research focuses on children's literacy development, formative assessment, and teacher training. He chairs the Undergraduate Education Committee and has led professional development initiatives across Canadian school divisions. His PAWs writing assessment system is widely adopted, emphasizing practical, classroom-centered approaches.
