Joe Seaton

Joe Seaton is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Dance + Choreography at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of the Arts. His professional dance career includes performances with BalletMet, Oklahoma City Ballet, Dayton Ballet, Richmond Ballet, Charlottesville Ballet, and Charlottesville Opera, where he performed leading roles in works by internationally renowned choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, George Balanchine, and Agnes DeMille.

Seaton's research interests focus on dance pedagogy, performance techniques, and the integration of yoga practice with dance training. His teaching encompasses both dance and yoga instruction across the United States and United Kingdom.

He received early training through Trinity Laban and the Royal Ballet's Chance to Dance program, followed by formal training at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and San Francisco Ballet School.
