Joe Noteboom is a Senior Learning Technology & Design Advisor at the University of Edinburgh's Edinburgh Futures Institute, where he supports academic staff in leveraging digital technologies for equitable, high-quality learning experiences through the institute’s Fusion teaching approach. He collaborates with the Centre for Technomoral Futures and Centre for Research in Digital Education.
His research focuses on the social and ethical implications of data-driven systems in higher education. Joe has over a decade of experience across international universities, including roles as a teacher, researcher, and administrator. He recently completed a PhD in Sociology (pending examination) and served on the University’s AI and Data Ethics Advisory Board.
His work emphasizes ethical frameworks for governing digital technologies and participatory approaches to shaping student experiences in data-centric educational environments.
