Joe Groch is an Instructor II in the PGA Golf Management Program at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), School of Resort & Hospitality Management. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from St. Joseph's University (1980) and an MPS in Applied Statistics from Hodges University (2013). His expertise spans golf management, customer relations, and data-driven analytics for golf facilities.
Research contributions include peer-reviewed articles on golfer retention, facility benchmarking, and member satisfaction, alongside two books: Effective Golf Management and Satisfaction: The Key to Industry Growth. He has presented at PGA education seminars and international conferences, earning two International 'Best Paper' Awards. His accolades include three PGA Horton Smith Awards for Excellence in Education and FGCU's Inspirational Teacher of the Year and President's Award for Best Research.
Prior to academia, Groch served 24 years as Director of Golf at Glades Golf & CC, retiring with the title of Director of Golf Emeritus. Earlier roles include Manager of Manufacturing Accounting at Scott Paper Company and founder of Micro Business Solutions, a computer company sold in 1990.
