Joe Frentzel, Ph.D., holds the Dr. Eugene Inman Endowed Chair of Science and Mathematics at Grace College and serves as Program Director for Biology. He earned his Ph.D. from Michigan State University and a B.S. from Indiana University–Purdue University at Fort Wayne.
Research Interests:
- Specializes in the biology and taxonomy of freshwater algae
- Focuses on identifying and quantifying algae in lakes and streams
Teaching Style:
- Emphasizes laboratory skills to demonstrate biological/chemical principles
- Uses small-group learning for applied, collaborative education
