Joe Cowley

Dr. Joe Cowley is a Lecturer in Education (PE & Health) at the University of Stirling, where he directs the BSc Sport, PE and Professional Education degree program. He earned his Doctorate from the Institute for Coaching and Performance (ICaP) at the University of Central Lancashire.

His research adopts a biopsychosocial framework to study sports injuries, physical activity, and teacher education. Recent work focuses on contextual learning for endurance coaches, with upcoming studies on knee injury prehabilitation and semaglutide user experiences. He holds professional qualifications as a Level 4 Strength and Conditioning coach and Level 3 personal trainer.
