About
Joe Beckwith is a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge's Faculty of Natural Sciences. He earned his PhD in 2019 at the University of Geneva studying molecular charge transfer systems using ultrafast electronic spectroscopies, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Princeton University (2020-2022) focused on single-particle spectroscopy. Currently, he develops spectroscopic tools as part of the Aligning Science Against Parkinson's (ASAP) consortium in the Steven F. Lee lab.
His research spans:
- Ultrafast and single-particle spectroscopies
- Nanoscale chemical reaction dynamics
- Application of statistics and information theory to spectroscopic data
- Equity and inclusion initiatives in chemistry
Notable achievements:
- Swiss National Science Foundation Early Postdoctoral Fellowship recipient
- Co-founder of "Queer in Chemistry Network" at Cambridge and Princeton
