About
Dr. Jodie Score is a Senior Lecturer in Microbiology at the University of Northampton's Science Centre for Physical Activity and Life Sciences. Her research focuses on antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, foodborne pathogens like Arcobacter, and environmental applications of plant extracts against pathogens such as Legionella. She currently supervises PhD students investigating antimicrobial resistance in anaerobic digestion systems, hydroponic crop optimization, Streptococcus pneumoniae response mechanisms, and evolutionary genetics of Fc receptors.
Her publications demonstrate expertise in pathogen control strategies, particularly through natural antimicrobial agents. Recent work examines the public health implications of emerging food pathogens and community health interventions for aging populations. Dr. Score maintains active research collaborations through projects funded by charitable and non-profit organizations focused on developing rapid bacterial detection methods and monitoring environmental antimicrobial resistance.
