Jodi Kushins is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Art Education at the University of Florida's School of Art + Art History. Her work centers on art education beyond traditional classrooms, exploring community-based practices, artful parenting, and the intersection of craft with digital culture.
Research Focus
Kushins examines participatory art practices, the artist as community catalyst, and pedagogical approaches that bridge formal and informal learning environments. Her current project, Over the Fence Urban Farm, demonstrates creative placemaking through environmental art and social engagement.
Teaching Innovation
She develops online pedagogies that leverage digital platforms for collaborative art education, documenting these explorations through her professional blog.
