Prof. Dr. Jochen Strähle is a Full-Professor of International Fashion Management at Reutlingen University, Germany, and serves as Dean of the TEXOVERSUM School of Textiles. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration/Intercultural Management from Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, Universidade de Coimbra, and the University of London. Prior to academia, he was CEO of a major Central Eastern European fashion retailer and held roles across Germany, Austria, and Slovakia. His expertise spans international retail management, sustainable fashion, and cross-cultural business strategies.
Research focuses include sustainable supply chains, consumer behavior in fashion retail, and the intersection of music and fashion. He leads projects like the Slow Fashion initiative (with Universities of Magdeburg and Hannover) and DiTex (digitalizing textile industries). He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Southampton and Haaga Helia University, and a Guest Professor at Xi’an Polytechnic University.
Publications include books on Green Fashion Retail and Fashion & Music, and over 50 articles in journals like Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management. He actively engages in international conferences and media, discussing topics like sustainability communication and ethical consumerism.
