Joannie Jean is a Part Time Lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ottawa, affiliated with the Department of Sociological and Anthropological Studies. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Ottawa (2018) and an MA in Anthropology from the same institution (2013). As a postdoctoral fellow at the Université de Moncton (April 2022–September 2023), she focused on sociological and anthropological research.
- Research Interests: Social Movements, Political Sociology, State Violence, Postcolonial Studies, Discourse Analysis, Conflict Studies, Space and Power, Identity, and related sociological/political themes.
