Joanne Stringer

Joanne Stringer is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), specializing in civil and commercial litigation, advocacy training, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). She serves as Module Leader for Civil Litigation, Civil Advocacy, Redoc, and LLM Dispute Resolution Skills and Practice.

Her expertise spans Civil Litigation and Evidence, Civil Advocacy, and Mediation, with a focus on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and commercial mediation. She collaborates with ADR-ODR International to provide students with accreditation as civil commercial mediators post-Bar Course completion.

Jo is a non-practising solicitor with extensive experience in international banking and commercial litigation from her time at Herbert Smith's London and Hong Kong offices. She is an accredited NITA and ATC advocacy trainer, a qualified commercial civil mediator with the ADR Group, and coordinates the Accredited Commercial Mediator Scheme for Bar students. Additionally, she facilitates pro bono opportunities through the Support Through Courts Unit in Bristol.
