Joanne Rush

Joanne Rush is a Senior Lecturer in International Human Resource Management and Programme Leader for the MSc Human Resource Management at the University of Sunderland. With over 13 years at the university, she specializes in culturally responsive teaching (CRT) to enhance inclusivity in diverse classrooms. She leads modules such as MGTM07, MGTM15, and MGTM26, and has extensive overseas teaching experience in Germany and the Czech Republic.

Education: PhD and Research Methods certificate from Newcastle University.

Research Focus: Culturally intelligent students, international HRM challenges including expatriation and institutional factors. Presentations at University of Bristol, Swansea University, and University of Iceland. Professional memberships include CIPD, BERA, and BAM.

Teaching Philosophy: Embedding CRT to foster cross-cultural collaboration and support international students' belonging.
