Joanne Forrest is Lecturer in Early Childhood Education at Charles Darwin University, researching Indigenous higher education and allyship. As an enabling educator at Batchelor Institute (2012-present), she supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through the Preparation for Tertiary Success program.
Her PhD investigates allyship articulations in Northern Territory education contexts, exploring how non-Indigenous educators navigate cultural interfaces. Collaborations include comparative studies with Canadian Indigenous programs, examining digital liminality and cross-cultural knowledge exchange.
Research outputs address work-integrated learning models for Indigenous students and resilience-building strategies in pre-tertiary pathways. Contributes to sustainable development goals through equitable education frameworks.
