Joan Policastri

Joan Policastri serves as Assistant Teaching Professor and Collection Services and Research Librarian at the University of Colorado Law School's Wise Law Library in Boulder, Colorado, a position she has held since January 2013 after transitioning from the University of Denver's law library system.

Her academic credentials include:

Professor Policastri's scholarship focuses on Indigenous Peoples Rights and International Law, originating from her Master's thesis fieldwork with Nicaragua's Miskito communities in 1989. She actively contributes to special interest sections of the American Association of Law Libraries and American Society of International Law dedicated to indigenous legal research, and has participated in global initiatives including the 2010 International Association of Law Librarians Annual Course at The Hague and Semester At Sea (Fall 2000).
