Joan G. Loftus

Joan G. Loftus is an Associate Professor and Director & Chair of Nursing at Colby-Sawyer College's School of Nursing & Health Sciences. She joined the faculty in 2008 and teaches courses such as First Year Nursing Seminar, Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice, and Nursing Leadership.

• Education: BSN from Wilkes College (1985), MSN from Georgetown University (1992), and DNP from Wilkes University (2014).

Her research and teaching focus on critical care, geriatrics, long-term care, and end-of-life issues in nursing. She has contributed to initiatives in clinical education and simulation-based training for nursing students.

Recent presentations include discussions on clinical teaming models, simulation in education, and delirium recognition in ICU settings at conferences such as the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation events between 2009 and 2016.
