Jo Divers is the Associate Dean for Learning, Teaching and Student Experience at the School of Health, Sciences and Society, University of Suffolk. A registered Midwife and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, she has worked at the university since 2019, previously serving as a Midwifery Lecturer/Senior Lecturer and Course Leader. Jo completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Medical and Healthcare Education (2018) and MSc in Public Health Nursing (2020), and is currently pursuing doctoral studies.
Her research focuses on nutrition during pregnancy, student belonging in higher education, and feminist approaches to practice reflection. She is also examining the nursing and midwifery higher education workforce dynamics. Jo contributes to advancing inclusive teaching frameworks, particularly through block teaching models, and her work addresses systemic racism and gender representation in midwifery education.
