About
Dr. Jing Wang is a Lecturer in Multifunctional Sustainable Composites at Swansea University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering within the School of Aerospace, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. She holds a Master’s (2018) and Doctorate (2022) in Advanced Composites and Sustainable Energy Nanocellulose from the University of Bristol, under Prof. Stephen J. Eichhorn, with collaboration at Imperial College London. Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher (2023-2024) at the University of Cambridge, contributing to the UKRI-funded S2UPPlant project.
Her research focuses on sustainable plant-derived nanocellulose composites for aerospace/mechanical engineering applications, next-generation energy storage technologies (e.g., sodium/potassium-ion and sodium-metal batteries), and smart sustainable packaging. Key expertise includes composite materials engineering, electrochemistry, and renewable energy storage.
Her publications span advanced materials journals like Advanced Materials and Advanced Energy Materials, emphasizing sustainable solutions in energy storage and composites. Collaborations include Professors Eichhorn, Titirici, and interdisciplinary teams across materials science and biochemistry.
Teaching interests include Materials Engineering, Composite Materials, and Functional Materials. She is actively involved in postgraduate supervision and maintains research links via ORCID, ResearchGate, and Google Scholar.
