Jim Vernon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at York University's Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. His research focuses on 19th and 20th Century Continental Philosophy, particularly Hegel, post-war French philosophers (Derrida, Badiou, Deleuze), and the intersection of political theory with Black Liberation movements. Vernon holds a PhD from the University of Guelph, an MA in Philosophy, and an HBA in Religious Studies and Literary Studies from McMaster University.
