Jim Supanick

Jim Supanick is a Lecturer in Critical Media Practices at the University of Colorado Boulder, specializing in experimental filmmaking, media theory, and nonfiction media production.

His educational background includes:

• BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art
• MFA from Rutgers University
• PhD candidate at the European Graduate School

Research focuses on the intersection of experimental documentary practices, labor studies, and technological mediation of sensory experience. His current project SEMI investigates long-haul trucking labor realities, while his doctoral work examines nonhuman animal sensoria and technological corollaries. Creative output spans film production, critical writing, and electronic music performance.
