Jim Rodenbush serves as the Director of Student Media and an instructor at The Media School, Indiana University. In his director role, he acts as chief executive officer and chief editorial adviser for the Indiana Daily Student, Arbutus yearbook, and Indiana University Student Television, overseeing all operations since joining IU in summer 2018 after 15 years of prior college media experience at Colorado State University, Penn State, and Webster University.

Rodenbush's research and creative interests focus on media literacy, transparency in journalism, reporting and writing, storytelling, and investigative reporting. As a leader in college media, he is a past president of WAUPM and former executive director of the Indiana Collegiate Press Association, frequently speaking at national conferences. Under his direction, the Indiana Daily Student earned 10 Pacemaker awards from the Associated Collegiate Press and was named College Media Outlet of the Year twice by the College Media Association.
Rodenbush provides chief editorial guidance across all student media platforms, fostering editorial independence while ensuring these organizations function as essential training grounds for future media professionals through direct oversight of daily operations and journalistic standards.
