Jim Higginbotham is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), serving as Professor of Pastoral Care at Earlham School of Religion. He has taught at institutions in Indiana, Ohio, and China, with expertise in pastoral ministry, community counseling, chaplaincy, and social justice advocacy.
- Education: Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University, M.S. from Loyola College, M.Div. from Vanderbilt University, B.A. from Hiram College
His research focuses on crisis pastoral care, conflict transformation, theology of compassion, Quaker Meeting pastoral care, mental health in pastoral contexts, and the intersection of religion and social justice. He previously served as Moderator of the Disciples Peace Fellowship.
