Jim Buckman

Jim Buckman is a Research Fellow at Heriot-Watt University's School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society, affiliated with the Institute for GeoEnergy Engineering. He leads the Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope (CESEM) facility, specializing in advanced microscopy techniques such as SEM-BEX imaging and X-ray micro-tomography. His research focuses on rock characterization, wettability, biomineralization, and digital rock modeling, with applications in GeoEnergy engineering and environmental sustainability.

Key areas of expertise include scanning electron microscopy, sedimentary rock analysis, and the study of micro-scale phenomena in geological materials.
