Jill Van Der Like

Jill Van Der Like is the Director of the Nursing Skills & Simulation Learning Center and a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of West Florida's School of Nursing, part of the College of Health. With 35 years of nursing experience, including 15 years as a clinical instructor, she focuses on improving patient care through simulation-based education and interprofessional collaboration. Her work emphasizes community health and patient safety.

Dr. Van Der Like holds an Associate of Science in Nursing from Pensacola State College, a BS in Nursing from the University of South Alabama, an MSN in Nursing Education from UWF, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Miami. She is certified in Inpatient Obstetrics by the National Certification Corporation.

Active in professional organizations, she belongs to Sigma Theta Tau International and the Florida Nurses Association. She volunteers as an advisor for the Student Nurses Association and the Pensacola Bay Area IMPACT 100. Her research and teaching center on enhancing healthcare quality through innovative simulation practices and interdisciplinary approaches.
