Jill Spratt

Jill Spratt serves as Lecturer in Advertising, Design & Branding and Course Director of BDes Hons Graphic Design and Illustration at Ulster University's Belfast School of Art within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences.

Her professional expertise spans over a decade of international design work through AV Browne, Rehab Studio, and her own consultancy Gamut, serving major clients including Bild, Vodafone Germany, BBC, The MAC, and Tourism Northern Ireland. Her research focuses on branding strategy, typographic design, cross-disciplinary design processes, and design perception.

As an active member of the International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD) and PANI, she currently serves as Acting Education Director for ISTD since July 2018.

She maintains significant academic engagement through conference organization including 'Unconference; Consumption Reconsidered' (September 2025) and '175: Celebrating the Future' (November 2024), along with research integrity training and committee participation in the 23rd International Conference on Virtual Systems and Multimedia (2017).
