Jill Ellens

Jill Ellens serves as special appointment faculty in the Department of Education within Cornerstone University's Adult & Graduate Studies school, teaching communication and writing courses while contributing to curriculum development and program assessment.

Her educational background includes:

• M.A. in Reading Instruction and Educational Leadership from Michigan State University
• B.A. from Calvin College

Her professional focus centers on educational practices for young readers, student success methodologies, and leadership development in academic settings. She emphasizes lifelong learning and helping students discover their vocational calling through faith-integrated education.

Her teaching excellence was formally recognized with the 2020 Colleen S. Smith Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Outside academia, she actively serves as member and community life coordinator at a local church while maintaining hobbies including gardening, grandchild engagement, and interpersonal community building.
