Jill Bamforth

Dr. Jill Bamforth is a Lecturer in Management at Swinburne University of Technology, affiliated with the School of Business, Law and Entrepreneurship. She serves as Academic Director for Work Integrated Learning, bridging academic theory and real-world industry practice. Her research focuses on entrepreneurship, digital identity, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, with a notable project on safeguarding digital identities in smart cities using self-sovereign identity technology. She collaborates with the Smart Cities Research Institute’s Future Spaces for Living group.

Dr. Bamforth’s career includes 20+ years in business consulting, teaching, and academic leadership. She has received awards such as the 2019 Vice-Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Award for her work on student- and industry-responsive WIL models. Her grants include projects on digital wallets’ impacts (2024) and UX design guidelines (2020). She actively contributes to community initiatives like WomenCan, promoting vocational training for women’s financial autonomy.

Her research spans historical studies of aviation industries, consumer behavior, and financial literacy among undergraduates. Key themes include hybrid teaching strategies, academic wellbeing in organizational change, and innovation in resource-rich economies.
