Jiaying Li

Dr Jiaying Li is a Research Fellow (Lecturer) at the School of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Sydney (USYD). She holds an adjunct position at the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences (QAEHS) at The University of Queensland (UQ), maintaining collaborative ties with her former institution.

• PhD in Environmental Engineering from UQ's ACWEB (2020)
• Postdoctoral Research Fellow at QAEHS-UQ (2020-2024)
• Sydney Horizon Fellow (2024-present)

Her research focuses on wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) for monitoring pharmaceuticals, contaminants of emerging concern (CECs), and viral pathogens. She specializes in:

• Multivariable data analysis

She contributes to multidisciplinary projects addressing water security and public health through:
