Jianyang HU

Dr. Jianyang HU serves as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the School of Medicine, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). He joined SUSTech in July 2021 after completing postdoctoral training at City University of Hong Kong, where he earned his PhD in Biomedical Sciences in 2020.

His educational background includes a Master's in Pharmacology from Jinan University (2012-2015) and a Bachelor's in Pharmacy from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (2008-2012). His research focuses on tumor cell senescence regulation, cancer metastasis mechanisms, and cell-cell communications in the tumor microenvironment, particularly through exosome-mediated pathways. His work primarily investigates triple-negative breast cancer using models like circulating tumor cells.

Dr. HU's publication record shows strong engagement in cancer biology with 13 papers in high-impact journals including Nature Communications (IF:17.694) and British Journal of Cancer (IF:9.08), accumulating over 480 citations and an H-index of 10. His research spans molecular oncology, drug discovery, and cancer pharmacology with emphasis on transcriptional regulation, stemness, and metastasis.
