Jessica Smith

Jessica Smith is an Associate Professor of Practice at Texas Tech University's Department of English, with affiliations in the Women's and Gender Studies Program and the organization Sexism/Cinema. She earned an MFA from The New School and has received creative support from institutions like the Sewanee Writers' Conference and the Vermont Studio Center.

Research Interests include contemporary American poetry, memoir, and trauma theory, with a focus on intimate partner violence in media. Her 2024 book Lady Smith (University of Akron Press) explores these themes through personal narrative and poetic form.
