Jessica Rieder

Jessica Rieder, M.D., M.S., is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, specializing in adolescent medicine. She serves as Director of the MD Scholarly Impact and Research Program and founder/director of the Bronx Nutrition and Fitness Initiative for Teens (B’N Fit), a joint program with Montefiore Medical Center and Mosholu Montefiore Community Center. Her work focuses on adolescent obesity, polycystic ovary syndrome, and improving weight management access for underserved youth.

Research & Initiatives: Dr. Rieder leads B’N Fit, a comprehensive weight management program for inner-city youth (ages 12-21), integrating clinical, behavioral, and community approaches. Her research evaluates program effectiveness and addresses barriers to healthcare access. She collaborates with community, advocacy, and educational partners to design youth-focused interventions.

Funding & Grants: Supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration, New York State Health Foundation, and private foundations for program evaluations and long-term health outcomes research.

Labs/Teams: Oversees a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nutritionists, social workers, and administrators at B’N Fit.
