Jessica Leonard

Jessica Leonard is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Counseling and Psychology at Rivier University. She serves as Director of Field Placements for the PsyD program and teaches doctoral-level intervention courses, practicum seminars, and oversees clinical training placements.

Dr. Leonard specializes in trauma therapy (childhood, sexual, combat, complex trauma) using evidence-based modalities like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She also conducts pre-surgical psychological assessments for bariatric programs and provides training in mindfulness-based interventions.

Her scholarly work focuses on ACT matrix applications, trauma interventions, and military/criminal psychology. Recent presentations (2023-2024) highlight her expertise in defusion techniques and client conceptualization. Earlier publications examine military psychology trends and criminal behavior analysis.
