Jessica Lee is a Houston Writing Fellow affiliated with the University of Houston's College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Department of English. Her academic work bridges writing pedagogy, medical rhetoric, and mental health narratives.

Lee's research focuses on medical rhetoric, particularly the intersection of psychiatric discourse and sociocultural constructs. She explores how community psychology can reshape psychiatric hospitalization practices to prioritize consumer/survivor agency.

Her publication in 2014 examines oppressive structures in acute psychiatric treatment and advocates for recovery-oriented care models. This work aligns with her teaching philosophy, which emphasizes cultural values in writing instruction.
