Jessica Jameson

Professor Jessica Jameson is the Head of the Department of Communication at North Carolina State University's College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her expertise spans organizational communication, conflict management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication from Temple University (1999) and has been affiliated with the Master of Engineering Management program. A key focus of her research involves mediation's impact on health and well-being, as well as conflict resolution in healthcare and workplace settings. Dr. Jameson has been recognized with the 2023 Outstanding Textbook Award for her work on constructive workplace conflict. She has led numerous grants, including initiatives on cross-sector collaboration, community engagement, and conflict resolution training. Active in professional service, she mediates for NC State’s Employee Mediation Program and serves as an Engaged Faculty Fellow.

Her research explores emotion's role in conflict management, dispute system design, and the intersection of technology with communication in conflict. Her teaching includes graduate seminars on organizational communication and undergraduate courses in conflict management.
