Jessica Fields

Dr. Jessica Fields is a Professor and Vice-Dean of Faculty Affairs, Equity, and Success at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Her work spans sociology, gender studies, and health education, focusing on equity, queer theory, and affective pedagogies. She is cross-appointed to the Health and Society program at UTSC.

Her research explores intersections of gender, race, and sexuality in educational contexts, emphasizing critical pedagogy and participatory methodologies. She investigates how institutions can better support LGBTQ+ youth and address systemic inequalities in sexual health education.

Recent publications analyze queer educational futures, embodied learning, and pandemic impacts on health education. Her scholarship often employs narrative and ethnographic approaches to challenge normative frameworks in sexuality education.
