Jessica Coria is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics with Statistics, University of Gothenburg. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has extensive academic leadership roles, including Co-Director of the Centre for Future Chemical Risk Assessment and Management Strategies (2016–2022) and Coordinator of the BECC Research Programme (2010–2015). Her research focuses on optimal design of environmental policy instruments, multi-level governance challenges, and regulatory interactions in climate policy.
Key research areas include environmental economics, industrial organization, regulatory economics, and applied microeconomics. She has published widely on topics such as policy spillovers, multi-pollutant regulation, and institutional constraints in developing countries. Dr. Coria teaches Environmental Economics, Econometrics, Microeconomics, and Industrial Organization.
Her work explores strategic behavior in multi-jurisdictional environmental governance, with emphasis on synergies and trade-offs between global and local pollutants. Recent studies analyze the European REACH Directive’s impact and NOx pollution control in Sweden, demonstrating expertise in policy design and implementation challenges.
