Dr. Jessica Bodgener is a veterinarian researcher at the University of Kent’s School of Social Sciences, focusing on wild carnivore health and its implications for conservation. She holds a PhD in Biodiversity Management and an MSc in Wild Animal Health from the Royal Veterinary College (2014), following her veterinary qualification from the University of Glasgow (2008). Her work addresses canine distemper virus impacts on tigers and leopards, particularly in Nepal, aiming to inform wildlife management strategies.
She contributes to global conservation initiatives, including Wildlife Vets International’s Conservation Working Group, the Wild Tiger Health Project, and the Kazakhstan Tiger Re-introduction Program.
